PAWS (Pavement Assessment Work-limited System) is an advanced, web-based GIS information system designed to revolutionize the way engineers and city transportation planners manage the pavement infrastructure in Columbus. This innovative tool provides a comprehensive history of any piece of pavement in the city, allowing for meticulous tracking and assessment. With PAWS, users can effortlessly create or view work orders and projects associated with pavement maintenance and improvements, ensuring that every segment of the city’s roads is meticulously documented and managed.
Our team at ATS developed the front-end web application for PAWS using React, a powerful and flexible JavaScript library. This project involved a significant integration effort with the existing backend GIS system to ensure seamless display and interaction with complex GIS data sets. By leveraging our expertise in React, we were able to create a responsive and intuitive user interface that enhances the user experience for city engineers and planners. The integration with the backend system was executed to ensure real-time data updates and accurate representation of pavement information.
Our team focused on delivering a solution that not only meets the technical requirements but also aligns with the practical needs of the end-users. Through careful planning, development, and rigorous testing, we ensured that PAWS stands out as a reliable tool in the city’s infrastructure management arsenal. This project underscores our commitment to delivering high-quality, custom software solutions that make a tangible difference in public sector operations.
